Kryptex FAQ

General

How does it work? Where does the money come from?

Kryptex generates cryptocurrency, which you earn in return — that process is called mining.

Mining is when computers solve complex mathematical problems to verify transactions on a cryptocurrency network, like Bitcoin.

For each successful verification, the system automatically rewards the miner with new coins and small transaction fees. These coins can then be exchanged for real money, since they hold value based on market demand and supply.

What do I get and what do you get?

You get the money without any effort.

Your computer does all the work. We get a small pool fee of the generated cryptocurrency.

Still most of the income goes to you.

My antivirus reports a virus!

Kryptex is not a virus!

There are viruses, that generate cryptocurrency without users' consent. Hence some antivirus software block anything related with cryptocurrencies. When Kryptex is detected such AV software usually reports: "Not-A-Virus", "Potentially Unwanted Software (PUA)". An aggressive safety policies of such AV software implies, that the user must explicitly allow such software to work.

What can you do? Add Kryptex into the exclusion list.

Kryptex works only when you allow it to!

How much can I earn?

It depends on your computer's power.

A modern PC with a powerful gaming grade graphics card can generate $20-100/month.

Install Kryptex app, and it will calculate the exact profitability for your PC.

How do I get the money?

You can withdraw your funds using a variety of methods, all listed in the “Payouts” section.

Check the details in our article "Withdrawing Money From Kryptex".

Will the computer work slower?

No, it won't.

Kryptex has a "light mode", that is activated automatically. It prevents any slowdown in browser or YouTube, you can watch streaming videos.

You can also switch off CPU mining and preserve resources for personal needs.

At any moment you can pause or turn Kryptex off.

Is it safe? Won't it cause damage to my PC?

You can stay assured, that your PC is safe.

To generate the cryptocurrency CPU and graphics card perform mathematical calculations. It is as safe as computer games, 3D-modeling or video editing.

Can I install Kryptex on several PCs?

Yes, you can! Simply install Kryptex on your PCs and log in using your account. Your balance will accumulate the income from all your PCs.

What is a satoshi?

A satoshi is the smallest unit of Bitcoin, named after the cryptocurrency’s mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

  • 1 Bitcoin (BTC) equals 100,000,000 satoshis

  • 1 satoshi is 0.00000001 BTC

My balance is not growing but instead is becoming lower!

Kryptex stores your balance in Bitcoin, but tracking your savings in Bitcoin may not be convenient for everyone. That’s why we display your balance in a familiar currency — by converting your Bitcoin amount using the current exchange rate and showing the result in dollars, euros or your preferred currency.

Because Bitcoin’s value fluctuates, the displayed balance in your chosen currency may increase or decrease. However, the Bitcoin amount in your "Available for payout" balance will never go down.

You can always check the current Bitcoin exchange rate in the "Balance" section of the website.

How often is the balance updated?

Usually it take 1 to 8 hours for the first profit to show on your personal account.

In rare cases, it may take several days.

What are Kryptex’s fees? How much do they take?

Kryptex isn’t just a “middleman with a fee” — it’s a full-fledged mining pool operator and cryptocurrency mining service.

Their approach is simple: “What you see is what you get.” That means you can evaluate your profitability directly in the app.

Thanks to its scale, Kryptex optimizes every stage of the mining process:

  • Custom-optimized forks of console miners

  • Proprietary mining pools with hundreds of CPU cores and terabytes of RAM

  • Special reduced trading fees on exchanges

  • A trading bot that outperforms most human traders

  • Partnerships with payment systems and other backend optimizations

Each of these steps squeezes out extra profitability for miners. The exact numbers vary depending on coin, volume, and market conditions.

You can check the current pool fees on the Kryptex Pool homepage.

My Bitcoins decreasing! Why so?

Only unconfirmed balance can decrease.

When your altcoins have not yet been exchanged for bitcoins, but the altcoin/bitcoin exchange rate has changed. We wrote more about this in our article: https://www.kryptex.com/en/articles/solutions-en

  1. The "Total Balance" consists of Bitcoins that are already "Available For Withdrawal" and altcoins that are in "Pending Balance."

  2. "Pending Balance" refers to altcoins awaiting verification and exchange into bitcoins.

Altcoins in this status are subject to value fluctuations until they are exchanged for Bitcoin, even if you are not actively mining.

  • Verification and exchange of altcoins typically take between 1 to 8 hours. In rare cases, it may take several days.
  • Kryptex automatically exchanges altcoins for Bitcoin when they reach a threshold of 0.00002 BTC or as soon as possible. After the exchange, the altcoins move to "Available for Withdrawal."
  • Each type of altcoin you mine is exchanged separately. For example, XMR, ERG, RVN will remain in the "Pending Balance" status until each reaches the equivalent of 0.00002 BTC.
  1. Bitcoins "Available for withdrawal" cannot decrease, but the "Total balance" or "Pending balance" can change.

It can happen if you do not mine enough altcoins to reach the exchange threshold of 0.00002 BTC, and the value of this coin drops. Unfortunately, nobody is immune from this.

For example, you mined NEXA, and the amount in the "Pending balance" field was 0.0000185 BTC. But then you refreshed the page, and the amount decreased to 0.000017 BTC.

The value of the NEXA coin sharply dropped, or, conversely, the BTC rate increased significantly, while the value of NEXA did not have time to rise. As a result, the estimated value of your coins decreased. The exact amount of altcoins is now worth less in bitcoins.

There is a positive side, too! If the opposite happens, and altcoin prices rise, your altcoins will be worth more when exchanged earlier, and you will receive more bitcoins!

Which Mining Method Is More Profitable? Kryptex App, Kryptex Pools, or Auto-Exchange Mining?

The profitability is the same whether you mine through the Kryptex app or on Kryptex pools — the only difference lies in the payout method.

  • If you mine using the Kryptex app or with auto-exchange, you receive Bitcoin directly to your Kryptex account.
  • If you mine on Kryptex Pools, you receive the actual coin you’re mining, sent straight to your personal wallet.

Kryptex offers three mining options:

  • Kryptex App – Simple two-click mining, time-saving, automatic conversion to Bitcoin, and a wide range of payout methods.
  • Kryptex Pool – Traditional mining with payouts in the mined coin directly to your wallet.
  • Pool Mining with Auto-Exchange – For advanced users who prefer mining without the app but still want payouts in BTC to their Kryptex account.

Mining with auto-exchange helps reduce risk, since Bitcoin is less volatile than most altcoins. In some cases, it can help avoid long-term losses if the mined coin’s value drops.

Mining without exchange might yield higher returns in the long run, especially if the altcoin appreciates in value.

Kryptex ran an experiment comparing these methods — you can check out the full article with results for more insights.

Application

Can my PC mine? Kryptex system requirements:

Kryptex requires a powerful gaming PC with a GPU and CPU no older than 2016. Older hardware may lack the necessary instruction sets for profitable mining.

  • Operating System: Windows 7–11 x64. 32-bit systems are not supported for mining.
  • Processor: Quad-core CPU, released in 2016 or later.
  • RAM: At least 8 GB is recommended for efficient CPU mining.
  • Graphics Card: A discrete GPU from 2016 or newer, with at least 4 GB of GDDR5 memory.

You can check your GPU’s profitability in our list of the best GPUs for mining.

Integrated graphics (like Intel HD or AMD Vega) and GPUs older than 2016 are not suitable for mining.

Kryptex app works unstable, what should I do?

What does profitability depend on?

Profitability depends on your hardware’s power and the state of the cryptocurrency market.

The more powerful your computer — especially the CPU and GPU — the higher your potential earnings. These are the factors you can control.

Market conditions, however, are beyond your control and change constantly. These include:

  • Increases or decreases in mining difficulty
  • The number of active miners
  • Fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices

For more details, check out the article: "What affects mining profitability".

I use a laptop, can I still earn money?

Yes, you can, but not much.

Kryptex works best on desktop PCs. Laptops are optimized for long battery life rather than intense calculations.

You can increase your profitability inviting friends using your referral link.

Which drivers should I install?

Driver version can impact performance.

  • For Nvidia GTX 1000 to RTX 3000 series, we recommend using driver version 528.49.
  • For Nvidia RTX 4000 and newer, install the latest driver from the official Nvidia website.
  • For AMD RX 400–500 series, use driver version 22Q4.
  • For AMD RX 5000 series, install the latest driver from the AMD website.
  • For Intel ARC GPUs, download the latest driver from the Intel website.

Once you have installed the new drivers, make sure to re-run the hardware check in Kryptex to ensure everything is working properly.

Can I run Kryptex in a hidden mode?

No, Kryptex cannot be run in hidden or stealth mode.

Kryptex places a strong emphasis on transparency and openness in how it operates with users.

The app only runs with the full knowledge and consent of the computer’s owner — there are no silent or background launch options by design.

Earnings

Why is Bitcoin’s price rising, but mining profitability isn’t?

Mining profitability depends on many market and technical factors — Bitcoin’s price is just one piece of the puzzle.

Here are the key factors that influence your earnings:

  • Altcoin-to-Bitcoin exchange rates: Kryptex doesn’t mine Bitcoin directly. Your rig mines other coins, and their exchange rate to BTC affects your final payout.
  • Competition among miners: The more miners working on a coin, the higher the difficulty and the lower the reward per block. As difficulty rises, profitability tends to drop.
  • Network difficulty: This determines how hard it is to find a block. If difficulty increases by 15%, your rig will mine 15% fewer coins in the same amount of time — even with the same hardware.
  • Crypto market prices: Exchange rates are driven by market cap, adoption, investor interest, and other unpredictable factors. A coin’s value can swing wildly — skyrocketing one day and crashing the next. If you are holding crypto, its dollar value will constantly fluctuate.

Kryptex doesn’t control profitability — it’s entirely shaped by market forces and the blockchain mechanics of the coin you’re mining. Some factors push earnings up, others pull them down. But Kryptex’s profitability is on par with other services.

Often, one factor offsets another. For example, an altcoin’s exchange rate to BTC might drop by a third, but if the block reward doubles, your profitability could still increase — even if the price seems to be falling.

Overclocking

Overclocking your GPU can boost visible performance, but it may actually reduce real profitability due to calculation instability.

If you're willing to take the risk, check out these helpful guides:

Find the best overclock settings for your GPU in our Overclocking Database.

Swap file

If you have multiple GPUs — increase your pagefile size!

Use this formula to calculate the recommended size: Total VRAM of all installed GPUs + 8 GB for system needs

For example, if you have two GPUs with 8 GB each, the pagefile should be: 8 + 8 + 8 = 24 GB

For step-by-step instructions, check out the article: "How to increase the pagefile size in Windows".

Payouts

I did not receive the email to confirm the payout. What should I do?

Try to search for the mail in the "Spam" folder. They often get there.

If an email lands in your Spam folder, kindly mark it as "Not Spam." This action will assist the email service in accurately categorizing similar messages.

If you don't see the letter in the spam, try requesting a new one:

  1. Click on the payment ID in the payment history
  2. Click on "Request a new letter".

The balance available for withdrawal isn’t increasing? Confirmed shares seem stuck and aren’t being exchanged?

Don’t worry — your balance isn’t frozen. The altcoins you’ve mined are simply waiting for confirmation and exchange.

  • Confirmation and verification of altcoins typically takes 1 to 8 hours, though in rare cases it may take a few days.
  • Kryptex automatically exchanges altcoins into Bitcoin once they reach a threshold of 0.00002 BTC, or as soon as it becomes possible.
  • After the exchange, the funds move to the “Available for Withdrawal” section.

Each altcoin is processed individually. So if you are mining XMR, RVN, or ERG, they’ll remain in the “Pending Confirmation” status until each one hits the required threshold.

You can learn more about how this works in the article How Kryptex Works.

Why is the withdrawal amount lower than the balance?

💡 That’s due to the difference between the average market rate and the buy rate — this is called the bid-ask spread.

How is the balance amount calculated?

Your funds are stored in Bitcoin only. Since it’s inconvenient to view your balance in BTC, Kryptex multiplies your Bitcoin holdings by the average exchange rate to show an estimate in your selected currency.

This is a standard practice across crypto services, making it easy to compare your Kryptex balance with wallets, exchanges, and other mining platforms.

How is the withdrawal amount calculated — and why is it lower?

Withdrawals use a different rate — the buy rate, which is slightly lower than the average. The difference between the two is the exchange spread, and that’s how all currency exchanges work.

Let’s break it down with an example using euro and dollars:

If the average EURO rate is 1.16 USD, you won’t be able to buy dollars at that rate. Banks and exchanges might sell EURO at 1.18 USD and buy at 1.12 USD. That 4 USD difference is the spread. The same applies to Bitcoin — it’s just how currency exchange works. When the market is volatile and prices swing sharply, the spread widens. When prices are stable, the spread narrows. In short, spread depends on volatility.

Kryptex doesn’t charge withdrawal fees

Payouts are made using the rate provided by our partner exchange, which acts like a “bank” converting Bitcoin into fiat currency.

If you’re not happy with Kryptex’s buy rate, you can always withdraw BTC or USDT (BEP20) and exchange it yourself on your preferred platform.

There’s even a guide on how to do that 😉

Security

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Improve your account security!

Enable two-factor authentication for withdrawals in your Kryptex profile.

2FA adds an extra layer of protection when logging into your account or confirming a payout. In addition to your password, you will need to verify your identity using a second method — such as a code from an authenticator app.

Learn more about 2FA and how to enable it.
