How to connect HiveOS to Kryptex

Feb. 27, 2021, 12:15 p.m.

You can mine in Kryptex directly without an application, but keep in mind that you will NOT have access to the cool features of the application, created for convenience, clarity and maximum profitability. 💪

Install Kryptex Pro! It has a lot of great features:

  • Remote monitoring and control.
  • Remote tuning of the rig in real time.
  • Extended statistics with hash rate, temperature, power consumption.
  • Flexible algorithm settings
  • Notifications about issues, recent news and updates.

Криптекс Pro is a serious tool.

What to begin with?

Described method is experimental. You often ask how to connect HiveOS, so we cannot resist to help you. 🖤

Kryptex is not affiliated with HiveOS and is not responsible of any malfunctions or issues can happen while working with this OS.

The objective of this article is to explain how to mine in Kryptex pools using HiveOS. All related issues can be discussed on our Forum.

To begin with, let's take a look at the installation instructions and general information about HiveOS on their official website.

You will need a second device in order to mine on HiveOS. All settings and monitoring are done using your mobile device or another PC.

You should follow these steps to mine in Kryptex pool without an app:

  1. Install Kryptex on your PC.
  2. Authorize and run the first benchmark.
  3. The exact address of the pool and its port.
  4. Correct wallet and worker ID.

Pool address, port, wallet and worker ID can be taken from logs of our desktop application.

Copy this address into the address bar of the explorer, and go to it: %AppData%\Kryptex to find cache.json:

Open cache.json file using integrated app "Notepad"

You will see all the parameters for any algorithm and coin that are available in Kryptex. Find the right algorithm and right parameters. For instance, for ETH.

Please note that paramenets at the moment of writing of the article can differ from parameters you will have during set up. Actual parameters are always available in cache.json file:

Actual parameters

Where else can I find these parameters?

Required parameters can be found from the logs of miner itself. They are located here: %AppData%\Kryptex\miners

Choose a folder with the right miner. For instance, for ETH mining it will be Phoenix that is located in kryptex7 folder.

Logs file

Open any recent log. It has all the required parameters:

Worker ID can be also found in your dashboard or by clicking the right rig in «computers» tab.

Worker ID in the dashboard

What parameters are required?

  • Pool address: eth.kryptex.network
  • Port: 8888
  • Wallet: from logs cache.json, or miner logs (in format 0x7af8ad...)
  • Worker ID: from logs or website (in format v2d3a82bb2)

Worker creation in HiveOS

It's better to name Hive OS worker the same as worker ID in Kryptex (v2XXXXXXXXX). According to our example, the final result will look similar to: v2d3a82bb2

It's not only convenient for rig identication, but also necessary for stable operation of some miners!

Then generate a password (write it down and don't forget ☝) and add tags or description if you want.

Password generation

Getting worker with RIG_ID and RIG_PASSWORD that are required to connect rig to HiveOS. This data is important, don't lose it!

Wallet creation

  1. Go to "Wallet" tab in HiveOS dashboard and click "Add wallet".
  2. Choose ETH coin
  3. Write your wallet address in this format: 0xbaef4a87e8a92ad5911bc5b0a2a02ed9867c0124/v2d3a82bb2 Please note that some miners (Gminer) accept format with a dot: 0xbaef4a87e8a92ad5911bc5b0a2a02ed9867c0124.v2d3a82bb2
  4. Name the wallet
  5. Mark our wallet as "Global" to make further setup easier

Attention! Worker ID and wallet address can't be separated. Worker is not an argument, but a part integrated in a wallet. You will not be able to mine on your account without it. Write wallet and worker ID merged. ☝

In the end the wallet will look like this:

Created wallet

Please note that indicators like balance, price and profitability will NOT be displayed. They can be found only in your dashboard (in a cool Kryptex Pro there are no limitations like this and all data is available in a user-friendly interface 😉).

Flight sheet creation in HiveOS dashboard:

  1. Choose a ETH coin.
  2. Choose pre-created wallet.
  3. Choose any pool and edit it by clicking "Edit pool".

  4. Go to "Advanced options", type address, port of the pool: (eth.kryptex.network:7000) and apply.

  5. Select a miner. For instance, T-Rex for NVIDIA graphics cards (RTX2060 in our case).

  6. Name your flight sheet;

    Name it correctly 😏

  7. Click "Create flight sheet" button;

  8. Add needed miners by clicking "Add miner" if you want

Please take a note! You can add only limited amount of rigs to HiveOS! At the same time, you can add any amount of rigs to Kryptex absolutely free! 🤩

Let's start mining!

  1. Boot from prepared device, connect to a network, type RIG_ID and RIG_PASSWORD then wait till HiveOS loads.
  2. After OS loads, choose our worker in HiveOS dashboard and launch flight sheet by clicking the "Rocket" icon.

  3. If everything is successful you will see income statistics after 10-20 minutes in your Kryptex dashboard. According to our example, black graph is a rig running in HiveOS.

Statistics is the only valid proof of a successful setup!

Income will appear in "Dashboard" in 10-20 minutes after launching the miner, depending on your hash rate and share finding speed.

We kindly remind that Kryptex allows to mine different coind with advanced miner setup: ETH, ETC, XMR, RVN, EXP, UBIQ and others. Download Kryptex Pro to check it 😉

Please take a note! Only limited amount of rigs can be added to HiveOS for free! At the same time, any amount of rigs can be added to Kryptex absolutely free! 🤩
